Looking for a light, fresh meal ready in just 15 minutes with no cooking? These rice paper rolls are filled with crunchy vegetables, noodles, and your choice of protein – perfect for warm days or a quick healthy lunch. Below you'll find how to use rice paper without tearing, what to fill it with, and how to serve it with either a homemade Sriracha mayo or ready-to-use Uni Eagle Sriracha sauce.
Ingredients for 8 fresh rolls
- 8 sheets of rice paper (22 cm diameter)
- 1 carrot – julienned
- ½ cucumber – sliced into thin sticks
- ½ red bell pepper – thin strips
- 1 ripe avocado – thin slices
- 80 g cooked rice vermicelli noodles
- 100 g cooked shrimp or marinated tofu (vegan version)
- 8 lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg)
- A handful of fresh mint or cilantro
For the dipping sauce, you have two options:
1. Homemade Sriracha Mayo:
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise (regular or vegan)
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon salt
Tip: If you prefer it milder, reduce the Sriracha or add ½ teaspoon of honey.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl until smooth and creamy. Chill for 10–15 minutes before serving.
2. Ready-to-use Uni Eagle Sriracha Sauce:
No time to mix? Grab our Uni Eagle Sriracha sauce – available in both small and large bottles. A balanced spicy kick, just like restaurants use.
How to roll rice paper without breaking
Prepare all ingredients before you start – rice paper softens quickly and you’ll want to work fast.
- Fill a wide bowl with lukewarm water.
- Dip one rice paper sheet for 6–8 seconds – it should be flexible but not sticky.
- Place it on a cutting board. Add in the bottom third: lettuce, a small amount of noodles, veggies, avocado, protein, and herbs.
- Fold the bottom edge over the filling, then fold the sides in, and roll tightly like a burrito. If it tears, wrap another sheet over it – problem solved.
Slice diagonally and serve with your preferred sauce. You can store the rolls for up to 24 hours in an airtight container lined with a damp paper towel.
Where to buy the best rice paper
Many people in Croatia ask: “Where to buy rice paper in Zagreb?” or “Which rice paper is easiest to roll?”
Our go-to recommendation is Duy Anh rice paper – soft, durable, and easy to handle even for beginners.
Pair it with Uni Eagle Sriracha sauce for the full experience. Both are available online at Rice Kakis or in-store in Zagreb.
